College Heights Missions "Mission Minded - Ministry Motivated"
Warm Blessings
New Location & 2nd Anniversary at College Height UMC Fellowship Hall
Warm Blessings, Inc. (WB) is a non-profit (501c3) organization dedicated to ministering to the whole person. The corporation is organized for the purpose of providing meals to hungry people with the vision to offer emergency shelter to people in crisis.
Warm Blessings began Ministry at College Heights United Methodist Church July 17, 2006. The ministry met in the College Heights UMC Fellowship Hall and Kitchen for 3 years and 6 months. College Heights UMC donated one of their Church Vans to Warm Blessings for the ministry. Exciting News! As of December 14, 2009, Warm Blessings relocated to the new location at the old Party Plus Store at 609 E. Dixie Avenue. Warm Blessings is also serving four nights a week now, instead of only three. Many thanks go out to all the wonderful volunteers who made this relocation possible! College Height UMC celebrates the moving to the new location and encourages all to support this community-wide ministry.
Hot meals are served from 5:30 to 7:00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings in the new location. The goal is to serve patrons with dignity and compassion.
Warm Blessings provides van pickup in limited areas. Please contact Warm Blessings at (270) 737-2929, to learn more.

Warm Blessings Buys Property and Adds Friday Night Meal Representatives from Warm Blessings “Soup Kitchen” gathered at KNB for the transfer of the deed for the property at 609 E. Dixie Ave.. in which Warm Blessings operates the meal program. According to Linda Funk, Warm Blessings Board of Directors chair, the Warm Blessing program has operated out of the E. Dixie site since Dec. 14, 2009. Since that date, Funk said “The Board of Directors has been preparing to purchase the building and on Feb. 22 the board signed a mortgage on the property.” According to Funk “This is an exciting time for not just the Warm Blessings’ Board but the many volunteers who make the program run each day.” She said “Now the real work begins as we face the challenge of paying off the mortgage as soon as possible.” Recently the program added Friday nights to the schedule and now serves meals each weeknight from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Plans are in the making to offer noon meal delivery on Saturdays to persons who can’t get out and are considered shut-ins. To volunteer, call Funk at 737-2929. Monetary support for the program is appreciated and can be sent to Warm Blessings, Inc. P.O. Box 2384 Elizabethtown, KY 42702. ... FROM THE NEWS ENTERPRISE
