President Margie Nantz welcomed all members and guests and offered the Upper Room's October 20 reading of 1 Cor. 12:12-27. A man had one large toe amputated and found he missed it. It had helped in walking and balancing. Who would have thought? The Body of Christ also misses one member. Their absence is noticed and felt. All abilities are needed.

Sue Williams read from the October ill issue of response, highlighting the UMBRELLA project of the San Mancos, Texas Southside Community Center. They have five areas of focus: 1) Youth; 2) Homeless; 3) Meals; 4) Summer Workshop on specific assistance; and, 5) the Retirement Community. They also encouraged community volunteers. We are to be working on lap quilts for Kensington Manor, there are so many new residents there.

We will meet November 17 at 9:30 a.m. in Room 17 for the World Thank Offering Service: Letting Go to be Thankful. Please bring a small rock to the program.

We were extremely happy to have both Mike and Sherri Morrissey with us to bring good news about Pattaya Blessing Home and reaching the unreached. Two truths appeared. Nothing happens without prayer and God opens doors. A little boy name Best has a mother named Sureepon. She had been shot in the back of the head and the bullet still remained. Her left arm was useless and her speech was slurred. After much time, it was learned that only $220 was needed for surgery plus a 6 hour ride. These were provided. In due time, she gained her arm back and she can speak plainly. Think of the difference this makes in the life of Best! Stories like this abound in all three areas mentioned above. Many thanks to those who have signed up to provide prayer support and praise God. Two current prayer needs are the flooded conditions in Thailand and building ownership to replace the rental fees and provide 24 hour protection for those who need it the most - the children.
